I have worked for corporations, associations, ballot committees, political candidates, governmental agencies, and the media for more than 25 years. Although many think of us as primarily a polling and marketing research company [something that we are very good at], we also provide our communication and advocacy [high level lobbying] skills to important corporate and communications clients.Relationships are important in helping our communications and advocacy clients. My first job in Lansing was working with Dick Posthumus, with whom I continue to have a close relationship. One of our first major corporate communications clients, Norfolk Southern Railroad, hired our company and Muchmore, Harrington, Smalley to work on a corporate takeover. That's why Dennis Muchmore hired us 16 years ago to do public relations for Muchmore, Harrington, Smalley.Working as a pollster and analyst to Detroit television stations and newspapers has allowed me to get to know and form close relationships with the Editorial Page Editors of the Detroit News [Nolan Finley] and the Detroit Free Press [Stephen Henderson], as well as reporters at the three TV major stations and the top radio news stations. Nolan, Stephen and I are often on Devin Scillian's Flashpoint program on the NBC afflliate in Detroit, WDIV-TV. So, when you think of Mitchell Research & Communications, Inc., we are just as great at "Communications" [and advocacy] as we are at "Research."
