The Community Futures Program is a national, rural community, economic development initiative. Community Futures Development Corporations provide business loans and other business financing to small and Medium sized enterprises. They also provide business counselling and education services and offer access to business resources and assistance with starting a new business. Finally, CFDCs work with local businesses, not for profits, municipalities and first nations as well as provincial, regional or county governments on a wide variety of community economic capacity development planning and projects.The mission of South Lake CFDC is to lead, grow and support our communities through sustainable economic development and job creation. Our community catchment area consists of the Township of Brock, the Town of East Gwillimbury and the Town of Georgina.My role was to:• Lead business and volunteer teams using positive and creative tactics to motivate them to enhance the level of commitment and eventual success of delivery• Connect developing partnerships and enhance efforts through collaboration• Serve as Principal Policy Advisor to the Board of directors

In this role, my primary focus was on:• Providing mortgage solutions designed to match client needs to the best possible financing plan• Underwrote and submitted deals to lenders for review, approval and advance

The Brock Youth Centre is a virtual organization that focuses on youth entrepreneurship and employability skills development in an effort to address one of the highest rates of youth unemployment, or underemployment, in Canada. My role at BYC included:• Developing partnerships and collaborations to create a supportive culture of entrepreneurship in North Durham• Creating and executing presentations to a variety of audiences to promote the organization and entrepreneurial programs• Developing and delivering an entrepreneurial training program in which youth experience what it is like to own their own business while working on their own ideas

Our company connected consumers, community groups and organizations with pre-screened, high-quality service providers. We recognized a need in the community for a reliable ‘go to’ source for high-quality service providers and co-conceived, designed and launched Silver Connections. Key to my role was:• Building and maintaining an exceptional profile within the community• Creating a Silver Connections brand and a strategic marketing campaign• Developing and facilitating a variety of sales and service training programs • Helping to build local small businesses by referring clients and promoting excellent service• Producing the Lifestyle Show; an event to showcase quality service providers

Brock’s Big Bite is a festival of food and friends bringing the community together. My role included:• Leading the organization in growing the event to an attendance level of over 2000• Maintaining and building collaborative relationships• Developing a sponsorship program for support, increasing sponsorship by 300%

At TD Canada Trust, I held positions at several branches within Central Ontario.• Roles revolved around customer service, management, credit underwriting and approval processes• Assisted clients with their credit and investment needs, focusing on retirement and estate planning strategies• Consistently exceeded sales goals as a Financial Advisor
