Wyoming Humanities, also known as ThinkWY, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). As the state's humanities council since 1972, ThinkWY has been the sole nonprofit public humanities organization in Wyoming. We promote understanding, appreciation, and cultivation of the humanities, relating them to current conditions of life. Through grants and programs ThinkWY fosters community building through conversation and critical thinking – the core of an informed, engaged citizenry.I serve as the chief executive officer for Wyoming Humanities and am responsible for all operations including development, advocacy/lobbying, programming and grants, and organization administration. We are governed by a statewide board of directors, including five gubernatorial appointees.

Promoted and enabled collaboration among the EDUCAUSE membership to design professional development programs to advance the effective use of technology in the classroom and to support IT leadership in higher education. Created conference program innovations for both face-to-face and online events. Launched new types of highly-interactive conference sessions, conducting numerous sessions myself. Responsible for designing and implementing evaluation tools to effectively measure the satisfaction level of participants at EDUCAUSE events. The EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research (ECAR) provides timely research and analysis to help higher education leaders make better decisions about information technology.I was the lead principal investigator for the annual ECAR Study of Undergraduate Students and Technology for 2009 and 2010. The study is used by education leaders and widely cited by scholars and journalists to foster better understanding of the use of technology in education. Research focused on the use of information technology in higher education, including best practices in pedagogies and the direction of technology. Designed and implemented online survey instruments, performed in depth quantitative analysis of over 30,000 responses using SPSS, and wrote detailed research reports. Delivered presentations at conferences and symposia presenting results and conclusions.

I was a full-time faculty member at Oglala Lakota College, the tribal college of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in Kyle, South Dakota. I was also heavily involved with implementation of distance learning courses and technology. I taught history, geography, globalization, American Government, and social justice courses. I continue to offer online courses as an adjunct instructor.
