I'm Smit Patel, a passionate engineer pursuing A.I. at Carnegie Mellon University. My undergraduate has roots in Electrical Engineering and minors in Humanities & Social Sciences at IIT Indore (2018-2022). My academic and research pursuits have been predominantly focused on Applied NLP and Deep Learning, with an emphasis on Data Mining, Deep Neural Network-based Representational Learning and Knowledge Graphs. My work at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with Prof. Erik Cambria leveraged weighted Information Gain theory and Commonsense Knowledge Graph-based SenticNet on a large dataset of 2M+ tweets to create a novel ensemble that has been published at an A* Conference. In addition to working with top names in the industry such as Arcesium (D.E. Shaw & Co), I have piloted crucial projects at rapidly growing organizations like CloudChef and Infurnia.
