Bug Reporting Tool for the webOS TV Platform- Developed a bug reporting tool that allows a user to file a bug into Jira directly from a TV. Users can take a screenshot, launch the bug report application, and report a bug headlessly by pressing the respective hot keys on a USB keyboard. Screenshot(s) taken so far and the status and logs of the TV are included or attached to the created Jira bug. - Greatly reduced the average time taken to file a bug (from about 10 min. to 1 min.) and the time to diagnose and fix a bug.- Implemented with C (for keyboard input), Node.js (for collecting necessary data via webOS internal modules), Enyo (for GUI frontend), and Jira’s REST API (for creating issues in Jira).Crash Reporting Tool for the webOS TV Platform- Developed a crash reporting tool that automatically files a bug into Jira when a process crashes on a TV. Various information about the crash (stack trace and memory map of the crashed process) and about the TV (build id, process list, logs, etc.) are included in the created Jira bug. - About 370k crash bugs (containing duplicates) have been filed into Jira for about two months and 38 unique crashes have been identified and fixed.- Implemented with Node.js (for collecting necessary data via webOS internal modules) and Jira’s REST API (for creating issues in Jira).- Worked with Silicon Valley engineers on-site for about four months at the LG Silicon Valley Lab (SVL) located at Santa Clara, CA.Test Automation for the webOS TV APIs- Built on top of an existing, in-house Python-based test framework, developed a test runner that runs a set of selected test cases against possibly multiple TVs, generates an HTML report, and optionally files a bug into Jira on a failed test case.- Led a team of 9 SDETs who have been mainly working on writing test scripts in Python. Devised the initial structure and coding convention and supervised them to write solid and consistent test scripts .

QNoteSDK) that facilitates developing Android applications with memo and drawing functionality.- Re-architected and re-factored an in-house note-taking application, making it easy to add a new feature (e.g., enabling a note to include an interactive 3D model just took 5 working days) and enhancing the drawing quality and performance, especially for drawing long paths with bitmap shaders and for rotating images.- Led a team of 4 engineers, dividing and distributing implementation & testing tasks to each member and helping them to accomplish their tasks.LG Memory Inspector for Android devices- Developed the LG Memory Inspector (LGMI), which enables collecting, analyzing, comparing, visualizing ROM and RAM usage of Android devices. - Exploited and adopted the code of DDMS in the Android SDK tools, used the jxls library for exporting usage data to an Excel file, and used the jfreechart library for drawing graphs from usage data.- Significantly reduced the time (4-8 hours to less than 10 minutes) to make a report on the memory usage of each apps/processes for managers.
