The Open University [UK] undertook a research study, 'Multilingual Classrooms: Opportunities and Challenges for English Medium Instruction in Low and Middle Income Contexts: in Ghana and India', funded by Education Development Trust [UK].• Presented highlights of the research outlining the findings, at the launch event of the research report organised by the British Council, The Open University and Education Development Trust, at Delhi. The event was a part of a Conference on ‘The languages of education in multilingual India: exploring effects on reading and mathematics’, a key part of the MultiLila (Multliingualism and multiliteracy) project, led by the University of Cambridge, with co-investigators from the University of Reading, Jawaharlal Nehru University, English and Foreign Languages University (Hyderabad) and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Karnataka, in co-operation with British Council India and other key Indian partners, at Delhi- Co-conducted the research in India along with the Open University faculty member.- Examined the increasingly widespread availability of low-cost English Medium schools in India in the target state Bihar. - Carried out the appreciative inquiry, In-depth Interviews of teachers, head teachers, government authorities.- Undertook classroom observations, - Analysed qualitative data using audio-recording, - Transcribed and translated audio data.- Co-authored a note on the initial findings and reflections, for the final report.- Gave comments on the final report.

-Leading the Situation Analysis for a project - Empowering Adolescents – taken up by Breakthrough Trust and its partners, supported by IKEA Foundation in 7 districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh for empowering adolescent girls and boys by enabling them to access rights and entitlements in the areas of Gender, Health, Education and Skills, focusing on preventing early marriage, early pregnancy, gender based violence and school leaving.- Leading the study team, conducting the study in phases, modifying the study concurrently as per the need, analysing the data, leading the report writing team, presenting the findings to and liaisoning with client and peer organisations. - Analysing data, created presentations- Being the Lead Author of the report including the recommendations.- Led the formative research- produced the Evaluation Criteria, Indicators, Logical Framework (LFA) and the Situation Analysis report that has provided evidence-based recommendations for the project design, preparing the ground for strengthened and nuanced Theory of Change.- The report was later adapted by Breakthrough and NRMC to bring about a shorter knowledge product for dissemination.

Assessing Livelihoods Opportunities & Aspirations of Young, Urban, Resource-Poor Women: in Slum clusters of Delhi- Overall responsibility of a research on various economic, societal and personal factors and perspectives, including aspirations, inhibitions, and opportunities that influence the livelihood choices of young, urban, resource-poor women. - Results of these qualitative and quantitative research had two main applications:1. They informed the ongoing intervention of the Azad Foundation, to evolve appropriate communication and mobilisation, and training strategies towards blending the aspirations of young, urban, resource-poor women with livelihood opportunities2. 21 July to 31 Dec. 2014 and 6 April to 15 July 2015:Reporting directly to the Senior AV Project Lead in The Open University’s main UK campus, I worked closely with the Head Academic of the project Teacher Education through School-based Support, TESS-India in Delhi, along with the State Teams in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. My role was that of a Senior Academic Consultant for AV Production and Teacher Educator, taking academic responsibility for the Audio-Visual (AV) Open Educational Resources (OERs) of TESS-India.The project won the Guardian University Award 2017 for International Projects for its OERs.The TESS-India AV Resources (Published: May 2015) are freely available as OERs and published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license. Compared data of two rounds of mobile phone-based primary surveys of 32 districts, 1348 Gram Panchayats in Rajasthan state, with Census 2011 and Govt. MIS data. Conducted Rapid Assessment of Processes and Outcomes under Total Sanitation Campaign in few districts. Analysed quantitative & qualitative data of the study of 65 districts and 12 states (process rating scales and sustainable usage outcome): Repurposing findings for advocacy with and research uptake at various levels: ranging from GoI & State Governments to district level audience. Prepared draft report, responded to peer-review comments. Quantitative & qualitative analysis of process factors of the flagship program Total Sanitation Campaign (now Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan of GoI).Baseline study in rural sanitation in Bihar: Monitoring the study. Quality checks. Finalizing tools & analysis plan.
