I provide critical input throughout the foundation and creation of Brown University's inaugural Bridge Scholars Program for predominantly low-income, first-generation incoming freshmen. This program aims to improve students' writing, problem solving, scholarly and creative research, community engagement, critical reflection, and cultural awareness skills to thrive on Brown's diverse campus. My responsibilities include (but are not limited to): the development of program workshops, training and onboarding materials, application processes, and promotional verbiage for the program website and flyers.

I also conducted research on industry trends, member companies, and emerging issues affecting the Americas, and analyzed data and prepared reports to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.

During the summer of 2023, I worked directly under firm partner Julio Acosta on workers’ compensation and personal injury defendant cases. I assisted with office clerical work, including filing for all current and closed cases and managing communications with clients. Also kept track of budget and litigation requirements between clients. In addition, I processed subpoenaed medical records for current cases and summarized them to better help the attorneys develop arguments for their case based on the facts I gathered.

In this role, I was responsible for coordinating and programming events, workshops, and discussions focused on Latinx communities. I hosted events such as game and painting nights to help unify the large Latinx community on campus and facilitated workshops with guest speakers that promoted Latinx professional success. I also collaborated with other Heritage Series to enhance the collective experience of all students of color at Brown and promoted all BCSC initiatives.

I worked with the communications department in the office of the Miami-Dade County mayor, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava from May to August of 2022, where I assisted with office clerical work, kept track of important events happening throughout the county, aided the mayor’s speech writers by researching relevant information for particular occasions, and promoted and planned events in the county hosted by the Mayor’s Office.

I gained experience in how to be productive in a work environment and how to facilitate a good relationship with my coworkers and bosses. I obtained experience in satisfying customers and working a cash register.

I worked for the City of Hialeah’s Department of Parks and Recreation in a paid internship supported by Miami-Dade County Public Schools. I lead volunteers in the EPI Program as well as the youths that attended the various Hialeah parks. I routinely visited my assigned park, where I learned communication and customer service skills.
