As one of five ballet dancers in a modernized production of Sleeping Beauty blending cutting edge technology with a traditional classic, I leveraged my balletic experience and event management skills by learning choreography under a time crunch, problem-solving during live performances, and working in a team while emphasizing my technical skills and performance quality.

In this role I lead intake of potential clients through Clio systems and over the phone, and collaborated with the lawyer and a small team of paralegals to retain clients. I learned and utilized 15 U.S.C. § 1692 –1692p debt law to defend consumers against harassment from predatory debt collectors and illegitimate debt scammers. Using this knowledge, I practiced communicating with vulnerable consumers targeted by debt collectors with empathy, asking questions to turn their story into a legal theory, and acted as a liaison between potential clients and the lawyer. In addition to FDCPA debt, I made arbitration calls to Ohio consumers to inform them of their legal rights against their legal representation, and advised on our burgenoing employment law practice.

As the Dance Program Assistant I frequently serve as the face of the program while overseeing our dance programming (three classes and one workshop a week), which requires liaising between the program, the dance professionals it hires, and the students that take our classes. I support 23+ dance RSOs on campus by connecting them with our resources and amplifying their events on our channels, which include the program’s Instagram page, our website, and our emails that reach 700 people weekly. I have worked in a 1 - 3 person team under Director of Dance Julia Rhoads to further the fledgling program’s goals of expansion to grow awareness of and participation in the program. I drafted and published a petition signed by 250+ people that has been sent to the administration, gathered and compiled data that supports our case, and crafted a presentation based on this data. While this campaign is still in progress, we have already made great strides toward our goal of making dance spaces more functional and accessible to all students.
