Hello! My name is Sofia and I'm a first-generation, low-income college graduate from Miami, FL. I was raised by Cuban immigrants, who taught me the importance of hard work and standing up for my beliefs. Growing up, I noticed my passion for inclusivity, accessibility, and education. Because of this, I hope to establish a career in Learning and Development, DEIB, or Education Consulting. I graduated from Harvard with a Neuroscience degree in May. Throughout my time at Harvard, I coordinated a project to make research labs more inclusive through Universal Design Principles. In 2022, I received the Harvard Undergraduate Employee of the Year Award and the Massachusetts Student Employee of the Year Award for my contribution to this project. I plan to continue this type of work post-graduation. I find it very fulfilling and enjoy making changes that help underrepresented groups feel supported, comfortable, and welcomed!
