I worked towards protecting, managing, and enhancing creek reserves and remnant vegetation sites in the City of Darebin, as well as improving awareness and understanding of conservation issues within urban areas throughout the community. To achieve this, some of the tasks I performed include: • Identifying and surveying Darebin’s indigenous flora species across multiple ecological vegetation classes (EVC). • Application of chemical and non-chemical methods to control environmental weeds. • Encourage natural regeneration through ecological burns and the introduction of seed through direct seeding• Site monitoring, including photos, data collection and record keeping. • Engaging with Friends of groups, community members and school groups. • Operating and maintaining equipment and tools.

I contributed to raise awareness about waste management practices amongst a variety of stakeholders, and ensured that open spaces within the Council were protected and kept in optimal conditions. Some of the tasks I performed include:• Represented the Council at community events, informing local residents about council's sustainability programs and waste management initiatives.• Surveyed members of the public about the waste management strategy implemented by the Council. • Engaged with local traders to inform them of the Council's business-oriented waste minimisation initiatives.• Audited litter at key waste hotspots around the CoPP, and contributed to the analysis of resulting data.

I joined Danone Waters as part of a high-performance Graduate Program through which I quickly expanded my leadership, organisational, and communication skills while on-the-job.As a Graduate Project Manager I assisted the Fleet Manager and the Director of Operations with the planning and implementation of project strategies to optimise the more than 2,000 vehicle fleet, with the aim of generating more sustainable processes. I coordinated a project to renew the vehicle fleet selling bulk water in communities with difficult access to clean water in Mexico, achieving both safer work conditions for operators, and more sustainable practices.I was in charge of strategically organizing the data, and presenting projects progress and results to relevant stakeholders.

I collaborated with the epigenomics team at INMEGEN to evaluate how the expression of long RNAs regulates the migration and invasion capacity of tumor cells under different conditions.

I was awarded with a Mitacs Globalink Research Internship to undertake a research project at The Canadian Rivers Institute.Under the supervision of Dr. Chris Martyniuk, I carried out a project to evaluate the impacts of phenanthrene - a toxic environmental contaminant- in the cardiac function of adult fathead minnow. With the use of genetics and molecular biology techniques, I assessed the expression of genes involved in calcium signaling pathways associated with heart disease, to better understand the mechanism underlying Phe induced cardiac dysfunction.
