Chemist, scholarly publishing professional, science communicator, and open-science advocate. Currently, Associate Publisher at the American Chemical Society (ACS), leading the strategic development of a portfolio of journals including ACS's two premier multidisciplinary open access journals (ACS Central Science and JACS Au), the materials chemistry journals (Chemistry of Materials and ACS Materials Letters), ACS Electrochemistry, and the agricultural & food journals (Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, ACS Agricultural Science & Technology, ACS Food Science & Technology). I manage a team of 3 full-time staff members, including 2 Managing Editors, and 1 Coordinating Editor, as well as a global and diverse Editorial Team including 5 Editors-in-Chief, 4 Deputy Editors, 6 Executive Editors, 7 Senior Editors, 60+ Associate Editors. Additionally, I contribute to new journal product development and have led the strategy for development and business expansion leading to the successful addition of new journal titles to the ACS Publications portfolio. Beyond my main responsibilities, I work collaboratively to contribute to broader division-wide ACS Publications initiatives, collaborate with other divisions within ACS in cross-functional teams, and outside of ACS with other scientific societies. I also do community outreach, representing my journals portfolio and ACS Publications at conferences, community events, and invited panels and discussions. Background: Ph.D. Chemist with strong communications and project management skills. Ability to develop and present detailed complex presentations of scientific research to audiences with various scientific backgrounds. Formerly, Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University in the Department of Chemistry (Scholes Research Group). PhD at North Carolina State University in the Department of Chemistry (Castellano Research Group). Extensive knowledge of photophysical and photochemical processes and spectroscopic techniques for photophysical characterization and investigation of excited state dynamics (ultrafast and supra nanosecond time scales). Broad experience leading investigation of various molecular (organic and inorganic) and nanocrystal based systems for solar energy conversion applications.
