Springboard Investment readiness & Venture CapitalElaborating Connect’s flagship program, the Springboard, further for growth companies in search for private equity and other sources of financing. Connect’s investment readiness program is designed to support growth companies wishing to seek capital to scale-up. The content of the program aims to get the entrepreneur in a strong position to present the business to different investors and meet their requirements. The Springboard is a proven, structured, yet flexible, business accelerator program. Connects venture capital business area includes companies pitching for the business angel network and open financial forums, master classes for investors, recruitment of new investors, implementing a digital platform for entrepreneurs looking for capital among other things.Venues for the business/industry communityRe-building a strong concept of breakfast meetings in Gothenburg targeting growth companies, investors and partners. By offering insights and hands-on advice on trending topics within areas such as entrepreneurship, capital/financing and success stories, Connect's breakfast meetings is today restored and a well established concept that attracts full house. Also in charge of Connect Väst’s yearly summit highlighting outstanding performance within our network. Under my period, the conference went from 180 to approx 700 attendees. Investor relations @Connect2Capital – West Nordic Venture Capital ForumProject manager for the first venture capital conference of its kind in Gothenburg (2014 and 2015). The venue offers investors to meet with growth companies and other investors in an efficient way by providing matching and pre-booked meetings. The program contained a range of keynotes that presented trends and success stories. 2014/2015 over 220/300 pre-booked meetings were conducted and with the results of the evaluation, the region of Västra Götaland decided to finance the conference of 2015.

Creation and execution of CONNECT Väst’s first communication strategy including coordination and administration of web updates and content management, operative activities, copy and editing newsletters, press releases, testimonials from satisfied clients and a social media strategy etc. This also included an improvement of CONNECT Väst’s graphic profile. A part from the graphic profile, marketing material such as pamphlets of CONNECT Väst’s different services were produced.Mentorship programA mentor plays an important role in the realization of CONNECTs two programs, the Springboard and the Business Accelerator. To offer tools, network and an understanding of the assignment a master class for mentors was introduced including the methodology of coaching and documentation to succeed in the role of a mentor at CONNECT.

Today a successful growth program for small and medium-sized companies looking for ways to accelerate their business. FöretagsAcceleratorn® equips existing entrepreneurs with the business skills and insights, tools, resources and networks to further grow and build successful businesses.At my arrival in 2006, the FöretagsAcceleratorn® was a smaller project outside Gothenburg with a lot of potential and a lot of “loose ends”. Regular evaluations of participating companies led to structuring the program for scalability, first on a regional level then on a national level. FöretagsAcceleratorn® was implemented in CONNECT Sweden as one of two programs in 2010.

Project manager when FöretagsAcceleratorn® goes national and it is time to scale in three CONNECT regions. Coordinating activities and implementing the process around Sweden with extra operative focus at the local CONNECT Öst office in Stockholm that included sponsorships and securing a deal flow of companies. FöretagsAcceleratorn® is also implemented in northern Norway.

The purpose of Mentors2Research (M2R) is to be a ”catalyst for utilization” of academic research results. The objective in the longer term is to increase and accelerate commercialization of research results from the academic world. M2R supports the personal development of the researchers. It creates the opportunity for researchers to have a bigger impact. Chalmers and its researchers gain by having researchers better able to succeed in utilization in an increasingly complex global academic world. The program has proven very successful at Chalmers since 2011 and is highly appreciated. For instance, on a scale 1-10, researchers gave a 9,2 grade point average in recommending the program to other researchers. Similarly, mentors gave an 8,9 grade point average in recommending business colleagues to accept an invitation to become a mentor.

Antelope Park is home to the groundbreaking and globally recognized African Lion Rehabilitation and Release into the Wild Program. As a volunteer on this reserve, I took part of the vital research of lion behavior and enjoyed hands-on volunteer work with lions on the world’s only significant program for their release into the wild. This included daily lion walks and elephant herding, meat preparations for the lions, fire-breaks, game count, road maintenance, cutting and colleting firewood, basic repairs and maintenance etc – an adventure!The organization has partnered with The African Lion & Environmental Research Trust (ALERT), a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the African Lion. In an attempt to offset the rapid decline of lion populations, a 4-stage Lion Rehabilitation Program has been instigated that aims to release cubs of captive bred lions into appropriate national parks and reserves across Africa as self-sustaining wild animals.

Tourism Planet was a startup company offering a hotel booking system tailored to meet the travellers wish for activities on their holidays. Tourism Planet possessed domains like countrysidehotels.com, mountainsidehotels.com, bigcityhotels.com and seasidehotels.com. The hotel system offered mainly independent hotels a way to expose all sides of the hotel in an appealing way. It also allowed the local or regional tourism office to present its attractions with photos and introductory presentations. I was in charged of the web content and maintaining a dialogue with different stakeholders connected to the content of the site.

The Michelin Green Guide provides detailed presentations including practical and cultural (history, culture, traditions, etc.) information, their selection of tourist sites, classified according to the famous Michelin stars (* of interest, ** worth a detour, *** worth the trip). Initially, I was part of the team working on the first edition in English of Scandinavia Finland and followed up with the edition in French. I coordinated freelance material and photos for printing, proofreading texts and maintaining dialogues with important stakeholders. I was offered to stay to on and put in charge of assembling information from the Green and the Red Guides into one database to provide an easier access and overview by creating new criteria for searchability on sights and their star system.
