I am a second year medical student at the University of Central Florida's College of Medicine, and have a strong interest in obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, and pediatrics. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami, where I pursued Bachelors of Science degrees in both Biochemistry and Nutrition & in Global Health Studies, as well as a minor in Chemistry. I aim to become a physician who utilizes clinical practice to mitigate the health disparities facing minority communities, and am actively pursuing opportunities to better serve these populations through clinical volunteering, medical research, and advocacy. Investigated the role of INTS11 ,a catalytic component of a protein complex that plays a significant role in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell(HSPC) function.Gained proficiency in applying the FLP-FRT recombination system to genetically modify mice to help investigate our research question.Analyzed blood samples from knockdown mice to track their blood cell counts, splenic function, and other key biomarkers. Conducted polymerase chain reactions and western blots using our mice samples, and learned how to conduct colony forming assays using hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.

At the University of Miami, I served as MSUM President (2020-2021), Secretary (2018-2020), and Freshman Representative (2017-2018. In my role as president, I collaborated with UM Dining Administration to introduce the first permanent halal food option for students at both UM dining halls, and worked closely with administration to develop a Ramadan food program to serve students on campus who observed fasting during Ramadan from 2019-2021.During the COVID-19 pandemic, my team and I established a interfaith meditation and prayer room at Richter Library for use by students of all religious and spiritual backgrounds. We also organized weekly Friday prayers for Muslim students on the Foote Green, and implemented MSUM's Ramadan program during Spring 2021, such as iftars and nightly prayers for students over a 30 day period.
