Experienced freelance editor with a demonstrated history of working in the academic publishing industry. Skilled in English language knowledge and application, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, public speaking, organisation and management, and conducting thorough research, culminating in evidence-based recommendations. Strong communication abilities, both written and verbally, with a First Class Bachelor of Arts Honours (B.A.Hons) focused on Psychology and Indigenous Development from the University of Otago (completed in 2017). My Honours research project investigated Māori women and postnatal depression. This research is now being developed into a PhD project.Since completing my degree, I have worked as a freelance English editor, mainly contracting to MDPI, one of the largest online publishers of open-access research globally. This has further honed my strong writing skills. I have also taken over the Sub-Editor role with the Twizel Update, a thriving weekly community publication that is circulated around the Mackenzie District in New Zealand.I am also involved with the Twizel Sports Development Board in an administration and project management capacity, having recently successfully established and managed the inaugural Twizel Sports Awards in August 2019. I am now focusing on establish an operations plan for the purchase of a community sports van for the Twizel community.
