As a member of the Quality, Safety and Environment department, my main duties were to carry out quality control tests on the finished product, painted sheet, as well as the raw material, galvanized sheet. I had to work directly with the production team leader in order to produce a final product without defects. It was also my responsibility to control pre-treatment and chemical conversion baths, by conducting titration tests. After completing the quality control reports I also performed statistical analysis of the results in order to evaluate the performance of the production process and the quality of the raw material received.

Observation of all the preparation made in the Puxadoiros saltern, necessary for the production of sea salt and flower of salt.Study of the ideal environmental and meteorological conditions for the flower of salt production.Implementation of some experimental methods to increase the flower of salt production and study of the obtained results.

My first experience in quality control was while I was still studying. During the summer break I did a small internship at Nestlé's quality control department. It was only 3 weeks but it allowed me to realize all the care that is needed in terms of cleanliness and hygiene in the food industry and to see all the very restricted control needed during food production. I spent 1 week in each of the following places:o Physical-chemical laboratory - monitors physico-chemical parameters of food and raw materials (water activity, protein analysis, sugars, vitamins, etc.)o Laboratory of Microbiology - monitors the microbiological load of several Products (from raw materials, products in the process of manufacturing and finished productso Tasting Room - Sensory evaluation of taste, color, odor and appearance of raw materials, semifinished products and final product. This evaluation is also carried out on products in conservation.
