During my contracted job (~ 1.5 years) as biologist, I made many researches inside the area of algae biotechnology. I investigated different opportunities for production with microalgae. I worked with cell cultures in sterile circumstances. I developed upstream and downstream processes. I grow microalgae in bioreactors, and produced proteins, carotenoids, starch for alcohol, food and feed supplements, carotenoids, astaxanthin, etc. I optimised the circumstances for growth and production of useful components. I also worked on my team’s patented strains. I developed many preparative methods and analytical chemical measures for extracting and measuring components from cells like starch, protein, carotenoids, lipids and fatty acids. I worked with strong collaboration with molecular biologists.During my PhD study (~ 2.5 years) I investigated the roll of the carotenoids in photosynthesis. I worked with cell cultures in sterile circumstances. I had carotenoid depleted cyanobacteria GMOs (Synechocystis sp. PCC6803: WT, crtH, crtB, crtHB, crt R, crtRO) and investigated the functional differences with wild cells. I experienced changes in the assembling of phycobilisomes resulting from the carotenoid depletion.Applied techniques: HPLC, TLC, GC, spectroscopy, sterile work, cell culture work, FTIR Spectroscopy.

I investigated the degradation mechanism (HPLC, Spectroscopy) of the ketoprofen named NSAID drug active ingredient caused by advanced oxidation methods for researches on water treatment.
