Sofia is originally from Venice. She graduated with honours at the University of Ferrara (Italy) in June 2008 and was nominated at the Archiprix Italy 2010.She worked on several award-winning projects in great architectural offices such as 3xn, Foreign Office Architects, Squire and Partners and Acme before establishing Matter of Stuff in 2014 with Simona Auteri.At Matter of Stuff Sofia looks after the bespoke manufacturing services and material consultancy services. Matter of Stuff manufacture design and architecture projects of any scale and scope, from one off or exclusively made pieces and limited edition works, to large scale installations and interior spaces. At the heart of everything Matter of Stuff do there is a shared belief that research and innovation in materials and making are integral to a more sustainable future. We strive to embed sustainable design thinking in every project. Matter of Stuff explores the intersections between technological advance, traditional manufacturing and bio manufacturing. Working with designers, interior designers, architects and organisations around the globe, we analyse their designs and creatively find manufacturing solutions and innovative materials to bring their projects to life. Clients turn to MOS for insight into materials, manufacturing processes and innovative solutions that will inform the design in the world of tomorrow.Matter of Stuff is divided between two interconnected activities: consultancy work towards more sustainable furniture procurement and manufacturing consultancy to help change the design of tomorrow.
