Weekly, I am provided a story and tasked with interviewing relevant people, attending debates or meetings, writing, and editing a story with a quick deadline. In addition to that overarching goal, I could work with board members and leadership teams, take minutes for those meetings, excel in Microsoft software and SalesForce, communicate through departments, and maintain efficiency through a hybrid job.

While at Serve to LEAD, I worked on the transformational development of young people in communities. My role here was dual-faced. First, I worked directly with STL to embrace its mission, vision, and values through weekly leadership formation meetings with STL's Executive Director, board members, staff, and community partners. I engaged in weekly training sessions on ethical leadership and global humanitarianism with them. On its secondary aspect, I worked directly with the Early Learning Summer Academy, a program made possible by Head Start. With this program, I led children in activities that support advancement in reading and math skills, physical development, and art/culture. I ensured students did not fall behind over the summer break. During this time, I worked primarily with rising Kindergarten and First-Grade students. However, the program allowed me to work with all elementary-aged students. After the learning in the school day, we worked on specific development, team-building exercises, and learning and playing outdoors through gardening, water games, or experiments.
