I am fortunate to be working at the esteemed Northside Center for Child Development under the Early Childhood Mental Health team. I work as a therapist to pregnant individuals experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), young children through play therapy, and the parent-child dyad. I strive to empower parents and strengthen the parent-child bond and attachment.

I worked as a Clinical Intern three days of the week as part of my field placement/practicum for the 2023-2024 school year. I was one of ten MSW students in the BIPOC Mental Health Fellowship. As a fellow, I had a caseload with varying ages, identities, and diagnoses, including a couple, adolescents, and Spanish-speaking clients. I conducted therapy with each client once or twice a week, and assisted in reaching their goals and living the lives they want to lead. As part of the internship/fellowship, I also met weekly for clinical trainings, BIPOC group supervisions, and individual supervisions. Lastly, I co-facilitated a biweekly high school group of 10-20 students to address mental health stigma.

Through the Program for Research on Youth Development and Engagement (PRYDE), students are hand-selected for each laboratory, including the Early Childhood Cognition (ECC) Lab. The WALLE program seeks to address the social determinants of health through a unique two-fold approach: improving health literacy by providing targeted health education, and empowering patients to seek out resource referrals to help their social needs.Throughout my internship, I helped patients complete medical forms, informed medical providers of patients' needs, and connected patients to free/low-cost community resources.
