I am a Colombian geologist with a PhD. in Paleoceanography and MSc. in Applied Geology, with over 7 years of experience in the Oil and gas industry and academia. My field of expertise is applied Micropaleontology, specifically benthic foraminifera applications in paleoceanographic and paleoenvironmental studies. I have wide experience in Upper Cretaceous and Cenozoic deposits of the Colombian Caribbean, Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific oceans. I have good scientific writing skills attested by my publication record, and excellent oral presentation skills certified by awards at international conferences. As an advocate for Diversity, Equity, and inclusion in STEM, I have volunteered at the GeoLatinas organization for over 4 years, and I am also interested in Science Communication Outreach which I develop personally, and in projects like the NSF-funded "Code to Communicate", and the PAGES Paleo-oxygenation working group.
