Research focused on understanding the link between afucoslyation in SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and severe COVID-19 progression. Built in vitro immune complexes to investigate the rate of apoptosis and pyroptosis under different conditions using flow cytometry. Mentored two high school students through working in a lab environment and understanding core concepts behind the experiments performed. Investigated Polycomb protein dynamics in the Drosophila ovary to examine how these proteins spread across enhancers during cell growth. Employed RNAi techniques and the Gal4/UAS system to disrupt potential interactions by removing individual proteins and introducing point mutations. Quantified the impact of these mutants on Polycomb complex localization via fluorescence microscopy and ImageJ analysis.Notable responsibilities: - Maintenance of personal fly lines- Drosophila ovary dissection, purification, and slide preparation- Data collection via fluorescence microscopy (3i Marianas Spinning Disk confocal microscope)- Image analysis in ImageJ

Conducted cell counting and area measurement tasks on images of mouse hippocampi in Image J. Performed Scholl analysis protocols to characterize neuronal images and analyzed results using MATLAB.
