Sofia Salazar is an Investigative and Open Source Analyst at Hetherington Group where she monitors and assesses intelligence on international risks, evaluates trends in global security issues, and develops analytic products to improve the intelligence collection and analysis capabilities of the team. Sofia leverages a mix of OSINT and SOCMINT tools to make rapid decisions about ongoing incidents, frequently before they are reported by mainstream news. Sofia graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Haven in December 2021 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and National Security Studies with a minor in Russian Studies at the University of New Haven, obtained her M.A. in Criminology from George Washington University. Sofia was the first recipient of the OSMOSIS Open Source Rising Star of the Year Award, and OSMOSIS conference emcee in 2023.
