I'm a clinical genomics product specialist, which is a scientist role within a development team in the Assay Productization department. Our department seeks to integrate sequencing output from various Cancer NGS assays with our flagship product Clinical Genomics Workspace (CGW) in order to bring personalized medicine to cancer patients. I also serve as the Team lead, where I help oversee the design of bioinformatics pipelines and the product lifecycle of integrating various assay outputs with CGW from requirement building, development, QA, User acceptance testing, documentation to final release and delivery. In addition to leading the team in the overall delivery of the product, I also participate in the following: -providing scientific and cancer genomics related insight and support-implementing an agile process by leading sprint planning, product backlog grooming, sprint reviews and retrospectives- communicating with vendors (ie Illumina, Pillar Biosciences etc) for knowledge gathering on their NGS assays- gathering stakeholder feedback from customer facing and other colleagues to help improve our products- writing customer-facing documentation and conducting training sessions both internally and externally on our products- maintaining and troubleshooting of bugs in existing products - participating in QA processes- coding and other bioinformatics related tasks when needed- identifying pain points in processes and products and coming up with solutions

Investigated the interacting role between the immune system in the tumor microenvironment and the development of cancer by analyzing mass-spectrometry and bulk RNA-seq data• Managed team and led the scientific direction of the project• Organized bi-monthly conference calls with collaborators

Cancer Genomics research in Li Ding's Lab• Created both supervised learning-based and de-novo algorithms in python/perl that utilizes protein structure-related features to prioritize driver mutations in cancer • Integrated multi-omics sequencing datasets at the DNA, RNA, and protein levels to investigate the druggable landscape of 6,570 TCGA patients and nominate potential combinatorial therapies• Prioritized computational predictions for experimental validation and created in vitro-based experimental protocols• Designed the structure of the “Database of Evidence for Precision Oncology”, which is a comprehensive database of known variant/drug interactions in cancer

-Created a device to manage inferior vena cava trauma prior to and during surgical repair. The purpose of this device is to occlude the injured area to minimize blood loss and to simultaneously allow for venous return back to the heart.-Assisted in design of the device, modeling device through CAD, writing business plan, applying to business plan competitions, and attending/presenting at business plan competitions -Selected as a Semifinalist for the 2013 MIT100K Accelerate Entrepreneurship Competition, Finalist in the UW Business Plan Competition, 3rd place at the BMEstart competition

-Experience with Linear regression modeling and NCI-60 model of cancer cell lines -Experience with machine learning and how to classify mutations as damaging/harmless through multiple sequence alignment/evolutionary conservation and amino acid properties-Experience with ESP6500 human exome sequencing data,VEST,SIFT, Polyphen 2, and multiple sequence alignment

I worked under the Space Life Sciences Directorate and Space Medicine Branch. I designed a database through SQL server to archive human life science research conducted in the past with focus on Space Shuttle, NASA-Mir, and International Space Station programs.-Gained experience in relational databases, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, SharePoint, InfoPath, and Microsoft Report Builder

I worked under the Systems Engineering Directorate and the Structural and Thermal Systems Branch-gained experience in java programming and fluid dynamics
