By limiting our portfolio, we ensure that each film we work with receives the attention it needs to reach its fullest potential. Square Eyes was founded in 2013 as Some Shorts by Wouter Jansen, former head of film programming at the Oscar-qualifying Go Short Film Festival. The agency quickly established a reputation for working with the most exciting shorts on the festival circuit. Many of these have won major awards, including the Palme d’Or at Cannes and main awards at Semaine de la Critique, Quinzaine des Realisateurs, Locarno, DokLeipzig and TIFF.In order to continue nurturing gifted filmmakers during the formative stages of their careers, the agency expanded its remit to include fiction and documentary features. The first feature project we worked on, Guido Hendrikx’s Stranger in Paradise, was selected as the opening film at IDFA in 2016 before going on to play at 88 further festivals around the world. Some Shorts focusses on distributing a selection of strong and daring films made by mostly young directors, to the international festival market. We work with both short films and features.Our films have played and won at many prestigious festivals like Cannes, Locarno, TIFF, Venice, Berlinale, Sundance, Tribeca, Clermont-Ferrand, Visions du Réel, San Sebastian, SXSW, IDFA, DokLeipzig, IndieLisboa, Oberhausen, IFFR, Hot Docs and Palm Springs Shorts Fest to name a few.

In charge of the program department, curator for out of competition programs and selection committee member for the competition programs. In charge of all selection procedures, rights and film logistics, catalog and program editorial content as well as funding requests.Distribution of all year round programs like De Voorfilm Moet Terug, Best-Of, Oscar Shorts and separate screenings.

Deep End Film is a collective of programmers with a passion for moving images. We try to organize screenings of films, series, music videos and other audio visual media that reflect the world we live in, and that show themes in which our generation (20-35 year-old) can recognize themselves.Deep End Film is still organizing screenings every one or two months.
