Ms. Sonia S. Lopez was born in Habana, Cuba and has been living in Miami-Dade County since 1967. She has a passion for community service, community development and education. Lopez is the President and CEO of CNC; a national non-profit organization with offices in Miami, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. CNC is a private nonprofit organization founded in 1972. The organization is engaged in research, policy analysis and conducts programs and services in the areas of leadership development, education, employment and foreclosure prevention and economic wealth building. CNC serves 5,000 individuals yearly, has a professional staff of 60 individuals, and is governed by a Board of Directors from various states who are elected annually.Ms. Lopez’ responsibilities at CNC include the setting of operational policy, direction and administration of agency programs, and participation in national activities affecting Hispanics and other minorities.She received the “FLORIDANA 2010 AWARD” from the Cuban Women’s Club and has been a member of the Diversity, Equity and Excellence Advisory Committee (DEEAC) and of the Attendance-Boundary Committee (ABC) – of Miami Dade County Public Schools. She is currently sitting on the Advisory Board of Ana G. Mendez University and has served as a proposal reviewer for The Children’s Trust. She is a Founding Board Member as President and Board Chair of The Guarione M. Diaz Alpha Charter of Excellence (ACE)- A new charter school which recently opened its doors on August 20, 2012.Sonia and her husband, along with their children Ulysses, Ailyn, Yvette and Leo are residents of South Miami and recently welcomed a new addition to their family; their first grandchild - Ulysses Anthony Lopez.

1. Responsible for the direct management and supervision of all program operations, personnel, payroll, contracts/grants, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting and other financial related operations with an approximate agency budget of seven (7) million dollars2. Responsible for the development, successful implementation, program outcomes, management and coordination of policies and procedures for all current and new CNC programs3. Responsible to represent CNC at conferences and other meetings or activities consistent with the organization’s goals and as requested by the President9. Responsible for the hiring and firing of CNC personnel, as well as developing and implementing personnel policies10. Ensure staff receives adequate orientation and professional development and training opportunities 11. Provide measurable goals and objectives in order to clearly evaluate the work of staff

This position was responsible for directly impacting the company’s growth and success in the Southeast region. It primarily interacted with HR Directors, Benefits and Purchasing managers of Client Corporations in their employee relocation responsibility. This position reported to the President of the Company.
