Sonja Eiseman holds an LL.M. from Yenching Academy of Peking University and a B.A. in Political Science and Human Rights from Barnard College of Columbia University. She has lived and studied on four continents including Chiayi City as a Fulbright Scholar and New Taipei City, Taiwan as a National Security Language Initiative Scholar. Sonja has lived in Barcelona, Beijing, Cairo, Paris, and New York City.Sonja began studying Mandarin in Massachusetts at the Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion High School, where she completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and graduated as valedictorian. During her time at Columbia, she was active in Columbia’s Model United Nations Travel Team, Women in Law and Politics, and Athena Pre-Law Society. At Yenching Academy, Sonja's thesis focused on community mediation through people’s courts. Sonja's bright spirit and impeccable work ethic make her a great addition to any team. She is detail-oriented and she can also see the "big picture." Sonja's long-term career interests include law, diplomacy, and human rights advocacy.
