Our team has a very flat structure, so everyone jumps in to get the job done from writing for the web to editing copy for posters, taking photos or posting on social media, but we all have certain areas that we focus on, mine being connecting staff with our Council's vision and purpose.As this is a big organisation with many teams that work across a variety of areas, and it features a very diverse workforce, my communications need to be engaging, relevant and have several touch points to ensure that we reach as many people as possible, from print to electronic to verbal.In this role I would advise which route to take (or combination), work with the team to develop content, find imagery that fits the message, edit the final product and make sure it's fit for purpose, it's messaging is clear, within our brand guidlines.Some of the highlights of this job is the variety:- writing media releases, staff stories, social media posts, letters to residents, 'how-to' guides- writing/editing copy and helping with planning for our Discover Porirua booklet, a brochure that promotes Porirua as a destination to the rest of the Wellington region.- working closely with the organisational development team to find ways to connect our staff to opportunities to grow and sign up for training, promote and give feedback of our annual staff survey. Work with them to look at ways that staff get their voices heard and our leadership team get their messages across in ways that these audiences respond to.- Taking photos for our website, social media and internal communications channels.- Work closely with our Pacific team to promote all the Pacific Language Weeks to staff.- Working with the change management team as we go through our digital transformation process.
