I worked as a research assistant creating online study material for the course “Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine” for the University of Turku and MEDigi, a national online education platform. I regenerated the current lecture materials to create a more understandable, explicit, and visually harmonious course material. This included, for example, creating schematic images and animations of complex biochemical reaction routes, such as glycolysis and citric acid cycle.

During the last year of my master's degree, I worked as master's thesis student in Cell Communication lab of Translational Cancer Medicine Research Program in Helsinki University and Wihuri Research Institute. My research project focused on unraveling the regulatory effects of the TGFβ (Transforming Growth Factor beta) signaling pathway in lymphangiogenesis (formation of the lymphatic network).During my thesis project, I mainly focused on biomedical imaging and image analysis techniques, additionally performing a wide scale of common wet-lab procedures. The project included high amounts of fluorescence and transmitted light time-lapse imaging of live cells utilizing Nikon Eclipse Ti-E, as well as image analysis with NIS Elements AR, Imaris, and Fiji/ImageJ softwares. To optimize my image analysis protocols, I also took initiative to study the basics of programming and learned to utilize macros in batch processing. During Covid-19 outbreak in the region, the coffee shop had to be closed and the bakery-confectionery lost its main source of sales. Together with my fiance, I took the initiative to create an online store and home-delivery system for Jauhopojat Oy utilizing OpenCart (PHP). Additionally, I created an advertising campaign to promote Jauhopojat Oy in social media.The advertising campaign permanently increased the followers of Jauhopojat Facebook page by approximately 220 % and peaked the visibility of Jauhopojat in social media (mainly Facebook and Instagram) for 27 700 % at best, reaching almost 20 000 individuals in the Pori area. The online store and the home-delivery system have been highly appreciated and utilized by both customers and Jauhopojat Oy.

During my Master's studies, I was working as an intern in Critical Oscillations laboratory in HiLife Neuroscience Center. I was part of a group developing a new human-mouse compatible neuroimaging platform. During the summer I created visual selective attention task for mice and got familiar with stereotaxic surgeries and psychophysics task models.

In Turku Centre for Biotechnology, I worked as a research assistant in the Molecular Systems Immunology group. I studied properties and functions of human Th17 and iTreg cells utilizing in vitro transfection techniques such as siRNA and CRISPRCas9 transfections. My main research methods included cell culturing, western blotting, PCR, and flow cytometry.
