This is why I am dedicating my life to dismantling traditional educational systems of oppression and building new student-centered ecosystems where future generations of young people can see the potential within themselves and help them work to actualize it.For 2 decades, across our nation and abroad, I’ve worked with communities to build sustainable student-centered learning ecosystems. Together we created new measures and learning frameworks. We developed structures for individual learning pathways. We built small learning communities where every child is seen, heard, and respected. We systematically integrated authentic real-world learning experiences. We expanded young people's social capital/network by connecting them to professional experts in their communities. We helped young people move closer to their passion and purpose. All this is in an effort to help them live fulfilled lives as defined by them.Clearly, I don’t know it all nor claim to, but learning is a constant joy in my life and a personal lifelong pursuit and practice.
