During my recent 2 month internship at Tata Motors Lucknow, I had the opportunity to delve into the world of the automotive industry and gain valuable insights into the commercial vehicle sector. This experience has been instrumental in enhancing my technical skills and understanding of complex automotive systems.I was assigned the project "Design and Analysis of Starting Circuits with ECU Integration" by Senior Manager Ram Gopal Sharma from the Skill & Service Department. The goal was to create a working model of a starting circuit with ECU control, a task that demanded a deep understanding of automotive electronics and practical problem-solving skills.Key Learnings:Worked with the WP582 6-cylinder, 5-liter ECU. I learned about its pin functions, conducted ECU flashing at Trimline-2 with the help of senior engineers, and integrated the ECU into the starting circuit. This involved understanding the relay's pin connections. Analysed and connected the ignition key wiring. Connected the starter solenoid to the relay, and controlled the positive and negative supplies through a manual cut-off switch.Mentorship and Guidance:Despite facing challenges, I received great support from Mr Richardson Mathew, Mr Rehan Ahmad, and Mr Jagannath Sir. They helped me understand the project, including part specifications, ECU pin configurations, and circuit design. Their guidance was crucial for overcoming obstacles and completing the project.Skills Developed:-Understanding of automotive starting circuits and ECU integration.-Experience in ECU flashing and configuration.-Hands-on experience with electrical wiring and relay setups.-Skills in sourcing and testing automotive components.This internship at Tata Motors was a great learning experience, giving me practical skills and industry knowledge. I'm very thankful for this opportunity and look forward to using what I learned in future projects.
