I am a Ph.D. candidate in Chemical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame, expecting to graduate in Summer 2024. My research focuses on developing platforms and methodologies for the characterization of nanocarriers such as exosomes, supermeres, and lipoproteins in blood, with applications in the diagnostics of diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative diseases.I have a strong background in both theoretical and experimental research, holding a Master's degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. My work has been published in prestigious journals such as Nature Communications and Communications Biology, and I hold two patents related to nanocarrier detection and quantification methods.I thrive in dynamic and innovative environments where I can contribute to impactful research projects. I am excited by opportunities to work collaboratively and to leverage my skills in biosensing, electrokinetics, microfluidics, nanoparticle analysis, drug delivery, drug response, nucleic acid analysis, wound healing, and bioprocessing. I am especially interested in research involving exosomes, diagnostics, cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative diseases and biosensor development, and I look forward to being part of a team that's pushing the boundaries of science and technology.

Graduate Research AssistantUniversity Of Notre Dame Oct 2019 - Jul 2024Notre Dame, Indiana, United StatesWorking at Chang lab in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular engineering. Several major projects included:• Developed and validated interference-resilient sensitive biosensing platforms (patent pending) for quantifying extracellular nanocarriers, reducing assay duration to 30 minutes with fM sensitivity.• Compared diagnostic efficacy of supermeres over small Extracellular Vesicles / Exosomes as biomarkers for colorectal cancer, showing superior p-values and AUC for 15 proteins in a study of 50 subjects.• Addressed limitations of cholesterol-based diagnostics by developing a new platform for assessing the enzyme Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) colocalized with High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL), improving diagnostic sensitivity and specificity to over 95% from 60-70% in cholesterol tests in a blind setting. • Conducted a blind clinical pilot study with diverse patient samples, achieving ~90% accuracy in disease type detection within 60 minutes using our novel Janus immunoassay platform. -

ResearcherIndian Institute Of Technology, Guwahati Jul 2016 - Jul 2019Anki Reddy Lab, Chemical EngineeringWorked with Prof. Katha Anki Reddy on granular media and had several publications in among the top theoretical journals of the field. Studied force dynamics on intruding entities in granular media, establishing a scaling relationship with the Froude number and identifying constant, linear, and quadratic regimes. Discovered and characterized the Magnus effect in granular media, explaining its reverse directionality due to asymmetric buckling of force chains (Ω<1) and slipping (Ω>1). Developed a theory to explain long-range forces between large granular particles, confirmed by data on force chain formation/buckling, showing attraction and repulsion transition at 4 grains. Analyzed clogging in granular media, considering particle shape, heterogeneity, and obstacles, advancing understanding of arch morphology and rheological properties.
