Researchers at the UMass Boston Baby Lab are interested in learning how infants learn and perceive the world around them. More specifically, how infants develop cognitive abilities such as language learning, short-term memory, as well as visual and auditory capabilities.For over a year I worked under the guidance of Principal Investigator Mohinish Shukla. Dr. Shukla is primarily interested in the developing infant brain and mind, in particular, the development of human language. His research utilized both behavioral (Tobii eye-tracking) and neuroimaging (Near-infrared Spectroscopy) techniques.Responsibilities:- Recruited and contactied participants- Attended weekly laboratory meetings and discussions- Assisted and ran studies examining the cognitive development (specifically, language acquisition) of infants and toddlers- Organized and analyzed data
