Through my experience as a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association and a Senior caregiver, I have had the opportunity to work with patients firsthand and play a role in the caregiving community. This has given me a passion in advocating for dementia care in hopes of alleviating the burden both patients and caregivers carry due to these diseases. At USF, I have the pleasure of serving as Treasurer to the Youth Movement Against Alzheimer’s (YMAA) in hopes of reaching a different community consisting of educators and students alike. Regarding my academic pursuits, I am dedicated to understanding neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia. Being a member of the Undergraduate Research Society has given me the opportunity to explore research in the biomedical sciences and work with a team of other passionate students. I am eager to continue expanding my knowledge and experience through research opportunities, collaborations, and fundraising events that will advance the movement against Dementia.
