About Sophia Trozzo

A Canadian/Italian citizen based in Italy, I have worked in education for over a decade as an educator, operations manager and national program coordinator. I hold a Masters in International HR from Rome Business School, a BA (Honours) in Journalism from Concordia University & TEFL certification from the University of Toronto.A founding member of social enterprise EDUCO Italia, since 2015 I have recruited over 2000 educators from across the world to participate in our organisation’s largest national program - our TEFL through Performance & Play course - held in hundreds of summer camps across the country annually, and exposing thousands of Italian children to the joy of learning English through songs, games and drama based activities. I work closely with our company CEO, didactic team, regional coordinators and teachers to coordinate, not only the international recruitment strategy, but all HR functions related to the project. In addition, I have created multiple teacher training courses in the UK, Ireland, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Canada, and Italy. Each year, over 200 Italian teachers participate in these international courses to develop their understanding of different scholastic systems across the world. I feel passionately about operating within a multiethnic, bilingual and inclusive work environment, recruiting talented educators from across the world and connecting them with opportunities to teach and travel in Italy.
