My role as Sustainable Food Assistant covered many tasks throughout my time at the University of Cambridge. I participated in the project which calculated the University of Cambridge’s carbon emissions from their food products, to assess the impact that their Sustainable Food Policy had. This was a groundbreaking approach for such a large organisation to take, and its results can be seen in the Sustainable Food Journey. Since then, I have been working on developing the University Catering Service’s sustainable goals, and marketing them as well as their business. I have experience working in a large team who were committed to making a large organisation more sustainable in every aspect, from transport to energy to food. Throughout my time in this role, I have developed skills in communication, both verbal and written, public speaking, working towards a carbon reduction strategy, report writing, critical thinking, digital marketing, and content writing.
