A couple of years ago, I completed a proofreading and editing course with the College of Media and Publishing, and achieved a distinction. The course comprised 11 units, and I am now able to apply a style guide; proofread on paper using the BSI marks; proofread on-screen using Adobe Reader and Word Track Changes; copy-edit; check for accuracy and facts; understand the basics of academic editing, and understand defamation and copyright law.
