I’m not the ideas person. I’m the one that turns it from an idea into a real thing and helps my amazing team in whatever way they need to succeed in our mission to live in a world where all waste is treated like the resource that it is. But even before this job I’m the type of person who takes the idea of quitting your job and cycling around North America and books the tickets, researches the bikes you should buy and cheerleads you into handing in your notice (check out our blog www.detourtomoosejaw.com). And that’s what got me here. I never thought the world of startups was for me, but when my fiancé, Tom, came up with the brilliant idea for Dsposal I knew I had to use my power to make dreams a reality and dive headlong into this new (ad)venture and see where it took us!I think tech and business have such an incredible potential for doing good in the world, but often don't. We want to use our power as a business and the tech we build to leave a positive impact on the world. We want to use Dsposal to help everyone to do the right thing with their waste. We want people to know that there is no “away”. We want to make it simple and cost effective for people to understand their waste and drive sustainability. We want to create a vibrant, innovative, encouraging workplace where our colleagues can thrive and create solutions for the future. We want to be part of a collaborative ecosystem of organisations who care about this stuff and work together to solve these wicked problems. This is what I want to do as CEO.I love what I do.
