1. Worked as a Machine Learning Intern at AMII on the Canada Wildfire Project for predicting extreme wildfires 3-5 days in advance for any specific coordinate.2. Curated a balanced dataset of Western Canada’s (approximately 1M sample) synoptic scale weather variables for advanced wildfire prediction for a specific geolocation.3. One of the unique aspects of predicting fire weather conditions for a specific coordinate is its different scales of dependability based on the neighboring region's weather parameters across time. To address this challenge, researched and developed a new self-attention mechanism for capturing spatiotemporal information from the time-series synoptic weather data.4. Researched and developed LSTM-FCN and Conv-LSTM-based architectures for capturing spatial and temporal representation from the synoptic data. 5. Presented the results and progress in weekly meetings with clients and the team.6. Provided necessary directions for the future aspects of the project and what the client needs to adapt for future directions.
