South Metro Fire Protection District Email & Phone Number

The Fire District covers over 52 square miles including the cities of Raymore and Lake Winnebago and unincorporated parts of Cass County. The Fire District provides fire protection and advanced life support services to its citizens. Presently there are 50 full-time employees. The District is a center for emergency medical education and training as well as fire education and training.The District responds to approximately 3,200 call for service each year. Approximately seventy percent of those calls are for medical services with the remainder being community service and other emergency calls. Less than one half of one percent of the district's call are for structural fire suppression. South Metro is a young, fast growing and changing department. Employees and citizens are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the Fire District.Administrative office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Shift schedules consist of twenty-four hour shifts based on a modified Berkley shift schedule. This is a nine day rotation as follows: on, off, on. off, on, off, off, off, off.The Board of Directors regularly meets on the Third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Other meetings are scheduled as the need arises.   The South Metro Fire District is a political sub-division of the State of Missouri and is governed by an elected five member Board of Directors. The Fire District was incorporated in 1968, as the Raymore Township Fire Protection District. The name was changed to the Northwest Cass Fire Protection District in 1990 and Finally South Metro Fire Protection District in 1991.
