This contract involved building Target's online checkout as a single page application using React.During this I contract, I was part of a dynamic Agile team focused on building new functionality to add value to Target's online store. Target IT has a strong Agile focus which has helped to progressively add value for customers by testing, tracking and measuring behaviour and responding quickly to these observations. The role also included maintain their existing JSP based website.

For this 6 month contract, I had the task of developing and styling the complex HTML generated by the internal JSF applications being developed for Telstra to manage their network infrastructure and customer Internet connections. During this time I gave ongoing CSS training sessions to the backend web developers and created a style guide, templates and reusable CSS classes and javascript libraries to reduce the overhead of styling pages.

Rivers Online StoreDeveloped modules in PHP using the Magento eCommerce framework to dynamically produce and display product listings during the upgrade of Rivers online store. Included updating the HTML and stylesheets for Rivers new look and feel. Also involved writing PHPUnit tests and automated front end tests using Selenium. Some of the modules developed included gift voucher promotions, adding products to the cart via AJAX, and automated out of stock notifications.

Sanofi – NaturesOwn WordPress WebsiteDeveloped an SEO optimised WordPress website which allowed users to submit tips, user stories, and to post questions to the resident Naturopath. Online SurveyExtended functionality of this XML based AJAX-driven web application allows administrators to create customized surveys that can be emailed out to a list of respondents organized by category. The application allows users to build surveys from a range of widgets including date pickers, custom drop-downs, and multiple-choice based questions among others.

Enhanced Planning and Works Management Interfaces (2009 - 2010)The project involved building interfaces using a combination of XML, Java, and C# for a web based application. Faulty Streetlight Reporting (2009)This enhancement involved adding the ability to generate several PDF reports on demand from XML.High Load Permit Application and Payment Form (2008)This web application involved creating dynamic forms with a wizard-style navigation that allowed users to register and apply for a permit to move physically tall or "high load" items by truck where power line height may be an issue. The completed application enabled the recovery of an estimated $1 million annually for survey levies and processing costs. Electronic Design and Quotation Application (2007)Involved creating an online form that allows customers to submit an application to perform electrical work above and beyond that required for domestic premises.Market Participant Interface (2006 - 2007)This project included working in a team to develop an online Java application that allows Western Power and it's clients to enter and manage power generation estimates and outages to fulfill the governments legislation during reform of the electricity market in Western Australia. Numerous graphs and reports were generated.Various web applications (2001 - 2006)Intranet and Internet based applications including Online Pay Slips, Gas Purchasing, Staff Directories, and Electricity Bill payment systems among others.
