I was initially contracted to conduct a comprehensive review of existing projects within Queensland Rail, focusing on providing recommendations for the implementation of Earned Value Management (EVM) on all capital projects. The purpose of this review was to identify areas where project controls needed improvement to achieve the desired outcomes.Based on the review findings, I provided a series of recommendations that led to my continued engagement as the leader of the project controls team. My role involved enhancing and refining existing processes to uplift the overall project controls framework.One of the key enhancements was the introduction of Ecosys, a project controls software specifically designed to optimize project management practices and enable more efficient decision-making. This implementation played a central role in the overall improvement efforts.As a result of these initiatives, there has been a significant uplift in processes, with Earned Value Management becoming a natural by-product of effective project controls.

This role requires liaison and negotiation with companies such as Saudi Rail Company, Rio Tinto, BHP, CBH, and Pacific National, as well as Bradken’s internal business units. Integral to this role is the allocation and optimization of resources and the development and delivery of metrics to indicate the health and progress of the program.

PMO Manager responsible for the development and strategic direction of the Bradken Rail PMO. The PMO was new to Bradken, and I was responsible for developing and implementing all processes and procedures. A major success was the implementation of Primavera P6, which was integrated with the cost management system Hard Dollar. This integration provided high-quality schedule and cost information from the tender phase through to project closeout. This project information was rolled up to produce regular, detailed program reports, which were available via a Yellowfin dashboard.
