  • Pepsico
Future Leader Intern - Supply Chain Operations
    Pepsico Jun 2014 - Aug 2014
    Howell, Michigan
Future Leader Intern, Supply Chain Operations - Beverage Division was my position at PepsiCo (within the Pepsi Beverages Company) that I worked in from June until August. The internship was rotational among different departments/areas of the operation, including production, asset management, maintenance/engineering, labor relations, quality control, warehouse, transportation, and operations management. I have observed and interacted with the managers of these departments, as well as the operations director. My project that I completed during the duration of this internship was a materials tracking task. I worked on collecting data on cost, usage, and pricing of different packaging materials (specifically stretch film and glue). I then used various spreadsheets I created to turn that data into information for daily usage, inventory count, average volume produced per one unit of each raw material, and the re-order point for those materials. I then created a forecasting spreadsheet tool organized by period, volume planned for various products/package types, and the amount raw materials needed for the period. This project will be implemented in Howell, MI and potentially other PepsiCo facilities. The project has required an understanding of finacial management, inventory management, labor relations, and asset management. Please refer to the power point presentation below for more information about my internship, background, project scope, project execution, and my lessons from PepsiCo and the beverage industry.
