My primary roles within T-Rex include: 1) Managing the general ledger. I record a high volume of transactions each month and prepare account reconciliations for the majority of the balance sheet accounts. 2) Preparing invoices for T-Rex's largest customer (the U.S. Census Bureau). 3) Advising the CFO on cash flow matters, using a weekly forecasting model which I designed. 4) Administering T-Rex's timekeeping and general ledger system (Unanet) and assisting other employees and departments with a wide variety of timesheet issues.

As part of Perforce's relatively small accounting and finance team, I got the opportunity to work within a wide variety of accounting processes, with a primary focus on revenue recognition. I determined the appropriate accounting treatment for a wide variety of complex customer contracts, posted all revenue transactions to the general ledger, and reported directly to management on a monthly analysis of actual results versus the budget and historical results. As Perforce rapidly expanded through acquisitions and organic growth, this role expanded to include integration of different accounting systems and more detailed revenue analysis by customer and product line.Some of my other major responsibilities included: preparing daily bank reconciliations, forecasting cash flows over a rolling 13-week period, and continuously improving the company's processes and internal controls.

During my time at Baker Tilly, I had the opportunity to provide value for a wide range of clients, ranging from development-stage companies to well-known organizations with up to $2 billion in annual revenue. I specialized in the manufacturing and distribution industry, getting exposed to many niche areas including medical devices, farm equipment, audio-visual equipment, commodity distribution co-ops, and others.While the majority of my work consisted of financial statement audits for private companies, I also have experience with audits of public companies, audits of employee benefit plans, financial statement reviews, compilations, and individual and business tax returns. I was also a part-time specialist with Baker Tilly's Risk and Internal Audit Consulting team, where I focused on testing the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of internal controls for public companies (SOX 404 compliance audits).

During the tax season of 2014, I completed approximately 400 tax returns from start to finish.
