Gawad Kalinga is a non-profit whose goal is to restore the dignity of the poor in order to end poverty for 5 million Filipino families by 2024. While at the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm, the first farm village university in the world, I acted as an on-ground coordinator for Aqualone, a startup company from New Caledonia, to implement innovative self-irrigating technology on the farm including a greenhouse, a model farm, and a garden. I also devised action strategies for the reorganization of the university, formulated the layout and cost for the installation of a new library, and led public speaking workshops to multinational groups from Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines. Additionally, I worked with One Village Philippines, a social enterprise attempting to address the issue of unreliable lighting by manufacturing low-cost solar torches, and I was also a mentor and a dorm parent for roughly 30 students.

Environment America is an organization that that raises awareness of environmental issues, promotes sensible solutions, and connects the public with the people who matter so their voices can be heard. While working at Environment America I organized events on campaigns to save the bees as well as to stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms. I engaged with new staff to teach and improve their skills, as well as organizing and managing crews while in the field. I also received an award for being one of the top fundraisers, personally raising over $15,000 for the campaign.

As an intern at the Armed Forces Institute of Medical Research I assisted doctors in the laboratories, analyzed reports and cataloged data entries.

LEAP is a non-profit that focuses on providing homeowners and local business with various services to reduce their home energy consumptions and improve their energy efficiency. They provide energy assessments, weatherization programs, solar panel installations and education and outreach workshops. While working at LEAP I analyzed case studies and best practices to increase community awareness & market penetration. I also developed and implemented outreach techniques such as identifying community partners & representing leap at community events.
