After a two week long front end engineering bootcamp, I worked with a fellow intern to create both the back-end and front-end of a software product. Using Angular4 and Typescript as well as MySQL, HTML, and CSS, together we created a product that scrapes customer review data from sites such as Yelp, Tripadvisor, and Zagat and automatically generates and sends customizable reports to user-specified email recipients. Through this internship, I gained valuable experience in front-end engineering, back-end engineering, and managing multiple SQL databases. As a team of two interns, we were able to create and manage SQL databases and connect the back-end of our software product to an easy to use UI designed using Angular4 as a framework. Along with Typescript, Angular4, and TypeORM, we utilized opensource applications such as Gearman, Puppeteer, and Amazon Web Services like Comprehend and an SMTP mailer.
