I am a civil engineer working for Summit County, Utah. I inventory and decide which roads need what treatment, design, put out to bid, and inspect the construction of Summit County Capital improvement/roadway projects including overlays, slurry, and roadway reconstruction, sidewalk, curb and gutter, other storm water improvement projects, and bridge maintenance projects like bridge painting and concrete polymer overlays. I manage each project's budget and public relations. It is my responsibility to maintain and update design specifications, designs, and details as necessary. I received my PE on May 16, 2024. My formal education consists of a Masters of Engineering degree from Utah State University (structural, 2021), Civil Engineering Bachelors degree from Utah State University (2020), passed the FE in 2019, and a Bachelors degree from Weber State University (Communication, 2015).I use UDOT and APWA standards almost daily, different projects in the county require different sets of codes.I use the MUTCD, AASHTO Geometric Design of Highway and Streets(the Green Book) during design process. I am familiar and am intermediate level user of AutoCAD and Civil 3D. I am familiar with ASCE 7-16 code and the 15th edition of the AISC Steel Construction Manual for the last two years. I am a little less familiar, but have used the 2018 NDS Wood Construction Code and the TMS 402/602-16 Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures.
