As a scientist, I'm driven by the challenge of developing innovative and transformative biomedical, chemical, and materials research. I aim to bring these discoveries from the lab to clinical and, ultimately, commercial applications. I'm excited to be part of a community of like-minded individuals who share my passion for making a difference in healthcare.I'm a soon-to-be recipient of a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Northwestern University under Prof. Nathan Gianneschi. My research explores new ways to prepare and modify materials to improve therapeutic efficacy and behavior inside the body. Specifically, I focus on developing biomimetic materials for targeted therapeutic delivery to treat cancer and damage following myocardial infarction. My work emphasizes improving therapeutics' selectivity and biodistribution through polymers' architecture and exploiting upregulated enzymes at the disease site.Originally from Cincinnati, OH, I earned my undergraduate degree in polymer science and engineering at Case Western Reserve University, where I researched Janus nanomaterials and biomolecular sensors. I'm passionate about mentoring new researchers, teaching, and collaborating with other scientists. Beyond the lab, I'm deeply committed to undergrad. I have volunteered with the Boys & Girls Clubs and performed science demos with ΑΧΣ during undergrad and Northwestern's PLU during graduate school. I'm also an avid museum-goer, foodie, and theater enthusiast. I enjoy exploring new restaurants and seeing plays and musicals with my partner.I'm always eager to connect with fellow scientists and learn about new developments in the field.
