After years of education in life sciences and (bio)informatics, I finished this trajectory in Systems Biology at the TU Delft. From this point of view, I started a PhD in pharmacometrics, researching the elimination of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies from our body. One of my projects is Natalizumab, a drug administered for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients. Prior research has shown that lowering drug concentrations could be beneficial, by maintaining immunosurveillance in the central nervous system, lowering health care costs, and decreasing the disease burden. We are aiming at personalized medicine guided by therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) coupled with pharmacokinetic models, known as model-informed precision dosing.
