• Cell culture of primary mammalian neuronal cells.
• Performed a small knockdown screen of kinesins and studied the effect on axon and dendrite length and morphology.
• Performed laser ablation experiments and microtubule comet assays to study microtubule orientation in dendrites.
• Constructed overexpression and knockdown constructs for SPIRE proteins and studied the effect of each on dendritic spine morphology through the re-organization of the actin network.

• Project title: “Expression profiling of inducible chromatin remodeler- and Mediator-depleted yeast strains”Supervisor: Frank Holstege
• Yeast cell culture.
• Designed and created vectors to set up the Anchor-Away method to inducibly deplete yeast cell nuclei of chromatin remodelers and mediator subunits.
• Performed the time-course depletion experiments and proceeded with microarray expression profiling of each timepoint and compared it to the available deletion strain expression profiles.
• Assisted with setting up nascent transcript profiling in the lab.

Thessaloniki, Greece

• Project title: “Genetic identification of bird game species in Greece”Supervisor: Alexandros Triantafyllidis
• Genomic DNA isolation from feathers of different partridge species.
• Developed RFLP assay to distinguish between different subspecies of Greek partridge.
• Analyzed and classified more than 100 samples and performed preliminary phylogenomics analyses.

• Project title: “Development of VHHs against c-Met cancer marker”
• Performed phage display antibody selections on libraries from llamas immunized against c-Met.
• Expressed selected nanobodies in bacterial systems.
• Performed ELISA experiments to determine affinity of the nanobodies for c-Met and performed initial immunofluorescence experiments on cancer cell lines to determine specificity.
