Earned a summer research grant from NIH/Merial to participate in an independent research project during the summer of 2017. I worked in the laboratory of Dr. Chris Lengner at PennVet, where I studied the regulation of stem cell quiescence in the murine small intestine.As a participant in this program, I also attended the National Veterinary Scholars Research Symposium, where I presented my poster, titled "The Role of BMP Signaling in the Maintenance of Intestinal Stem Cell Quiescence".

I worked in the laboratory of Dr. Alex Kolodkin as a research technician. While I was been involved in several different projects, the main goal of our lab was to investigate the formation and refinement of neural circuits. With semaphorin signaling as the basis of our studies, we are able to investigate axonal guidance, synaptogenesis, and dendritic morphology in the context of neural development.
